Xcel Energy contributes to homelessness prevention through charitable contributions and customer programs targeting low-income people to help them lower their energy bills. In 2009, we contributed $16 million to energy cash assistance programs across our service area. Through our United Way campaign, more than $5 million was donated to local United Ways with many dollars directed towards ending homelessness.
