Game's Up - Team Shelter Takes It All!
Congratulations to the Dream Team Challenge winner: Team Shelter with 4,839 members!
Jason Matheson of Fox 9, captain of the winning team, gets full bragging rights for the victory. As team sponsor, Xcel Energy’s support will help the more than 9,000 people who are homeless in Minnesota.
In a tight race, Team Hunger, led by Jason DeRusha, WCCO, rallied the team in the final hours to 4,209 members. Land O’Lakes sponsored Team Hunger to help the hungry.
Rena Sarigianopoulis, KARE 11, championed Team Wellness with nearly 3,000 members. HealthPartners sponsored the team help kids stay healthy.
Vineeta Sawkar led Team Literacy to just about 2,000 members. Target’s sponsorship of Team Literacy will help United Way support children’s literacy programs.
In total, nearly $14,000 from our generous sponsors will help people in our community get up and out of poverty.
Winners were announced at the Minnesota State Fair on September 3.
